Krystof Kozlowski has to his credit an amazing body of design work in lighting, theatre,
multimedia and visual design, artistic and installation design as well as design for galleries and public spaces. Kozlowski brings the principles of artistic creation and passion, combined with the highest levels of quality and function, to all these areas. His knowledge of the psychology and perception of light and colour gives special power to his work. |
| Krystof has been contracted for theatre, lighting and commercial design projects in 36 countries around the world; he speaks seven languages and has worked with many of the top names in theatre and design. He spent six years as artistic technical director of the Cullberg Ballet Company of Sweden. In the USA, he was lighting designer for Pepsi-Co's New York Theatre Festival; he spent four years with the World-renowned Royal Dramatic Theatre of Stockholm, working several times with Ingmar Bergman. In Havana, Cuba, Kozlowski worked as artistic lighting consultant to their International Festival of Ballet; he has designed for Tani Momoko's ballet company in Tokyo, worked in Paris with Carlos Cruz-Diez, 'the master of colour', and has worked many times in the top theatres and spaces of Russia. |
Krystof has also designed for many major companies in Australia, including the Melbourne
Theatre Company, SA's State Theatre, the Melbourne International Festival, Adelaide Festival and the Victoria Arts Centre. He designed the outdoor lighting for the Southbank Development in Brisbane and designed the David Jones Gallery in Melbourne. Krystof won acclaim again when he created the full set and lighting design for the very successful Melbourne/Sydney production of Broadway Musical Sweet Charity (awarded 'Musical of the Decade' in Victoria). |
Kozlowski has been at the forefront of multimedia design for the last twelve years, often
integrating space design with multimedia presentations to produce high impact environments.
His design of a series of state-of -the-art presentation studios (‘war rooms’) around Australia for Telstra serves as a benchmark in modern communication design. These studios are completely controlled environments, bringing unparalleled levels of attention and response to presentations. Krystof designed every aspect of these spaces, from the walls, floors and displays to the most sophisticated multimedia presentations available. |
| In 2004, at the invitation of the Swedish Ministry of Culture, Krystof designed the set and lighting for a cutting edge performance production in Warsaw in which he integrated the work of Swedish and Polish artists through light. His work was featured on European television and the production is set to be adapted for several other countries. |
Krystof is Artistic Director of his own company, based in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales
and successfully combines corporate design with his artistic work. |
